As the first President & CEO of Sun Corridor Inc., Joe Snell brings nearly 30 years of experience leading regional economic development organizations in communities of various sizes. His knowledge on building strategic, competitive and balanced economic development efforts have resulted in Snell being nationally recognized for creating strong economies in high-growth regions.
Sun Corridor Inc. is a transformative economic development organization representing one of the most dynamic and growing major business centers in North America. Under Snell's leadership of Sun Corridor Inc. for the past 11 years, the organization has helped to drive significant business investment into the Tucson and Southern Arizona region through primary job creation, resulting in an economic impact of $18.7 billion. In 2015, Snell led the re-engineering of the organization, renaming/rebranding it and expanding its mission and footprint to serve all of Southern Arizona.
In his previous position as President of the Metro Denver Network, Snell focused his efforts on the development of long‐range strategies and the creation of an infrastructure designed to capture high-wage opportunities. Under his leadership, Metro Denver was consistently ranked as one of the nation’s fastest growing markets in high-wage job creation. Snell has launched successful economic development organizations in both Kansas and New Mexico. His inclusive approach in the development of goals and plans has resulted in widespread community support and success in both states.
Snell is a frequently requested speaker and lecturer on economic development and competitive issues. He is a regular contributor to various international and national media trade publications. He is a former faculty member of the annual Arizona Economic Development Course, an intensive training course in the basics of economic development accredited by the International Economic Development Council.
Snell holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska. He is married and has three children.
