The Industrial Development Authority of the County of Pima
Ken Silverman is a Pima County native who has served in the insurance industry here in Tucson for many years. Ken continues to serve on the Board Of Directors of the Industrial Development Authority of the County of Pima (the “Authority”), and was first appointed in 2017. He is the immediate past President of the Authority for the last 2 years. The Authority is a non-profit corporation designated a political subdivision of the State of Arizona incorporated with the approval of Pima County.
Since 1972, the Authority has been accomplishing its economic development purposes and supporting Pima County by completing projects in: (i) affordable housing; (ii) education; (iii) manufacturing; (iv) medical facilities; (v) utilities; and (vi) other bond financing. Non-profit affiliates of the Authority have aided in the economic growth in Pima County in similar areas, and he has served on some of those boards since 2011.
Ken is a graduate of the University of Arizona with degrees in Insurance and real estate as well as English. He has been a property and casualty insurance agent for over 45 years. He provides insurance services to small and mid-sized businesses and personal insurance as well. He has great experience dealing with non-profit organizations and developers. He has also served on other board directors for non-profit organizations, including Community Investment Corporation, Southern Arizona Land Trust and Hillel Foundation.
