Farhad Moghimi

Farhad Moghimi is the new Executive Director of the Pima Association of Governments/ Regional Transportation Authority. He has a diverse background that encompasses executive level management experience both in private sector and public administration.
Prior to joining the PAG/RTA, Farhad was the Assistant Town Manager for the Town of Sahuarita. He also served as Public Works Director in the Town of Marana. A registered professional engineer, he has a strong understanding of infrastructure investments as the primary driver for economic development opportunities and a sense of urgency managing the issues faced by fast-growing communities. He is an appointed member of the National Government Affairs Committee of American Public Works Association and serves on its Federal Transportation Reauthorization Task Force.
Farhad has extensive experience collaborating with federal, state and local agencies on all aspects of multi-disciplined projects and is very familiar with the Federal Highway Administration and Arizona Department of Transportation’s funding policies and procedures. He has implemented several noteworthy capital improvement projects in the region including major roadways and oversaw several large commercial and master-planned residential projects that marked the explosive growth of the Town of Marana in the late 1990’s and Sahuarita in the mid 2000’s.
An alumnus of the University of Arizona, Farhad promotes open dialogue and holds frequent meetings with stakeholders and engages in active outreach programs to solicit input. His experience includes significant interaction and maintaining solid relationships with business representatives, non-profits, private citizens, local governments and elected officials throughout the region.
His unique blend of public and private sector management experience, passion for public service, and past accomplishments will serve the region well in the performance of his duties as the PAG/RTA Executive Director.
