As President, Adriana Kong Romero is Bank of America’s leader in Tucson. She connects businesses, families, and individuals to the banking and investment teams that will help improve their financial lives. She also leads the work to deploy Bank of America’s resources across the market and southern Arizona region to address social and economic concerns and build strong communities. Adriana also leads Bank of America’s corporate social responsibility work in the region, which leverages the unmatched capabilities of the company to help partners, people, communities and a broad client and customer base more effectively address a wide range of issues.
In addition to her President role, Adriana leads the Global Commercial Banking efforts for Southern Arizona working with companies with annual revenues of $50MM to $2 billion. In this capacity, she focuses on local delivery of financial and digital solutions including treasury, credit, investment banking, and risk management by focusing on understanding each client’s unique needs to deliver strategic financial guidance and solutions. She holds a Series 24, 7, and 63 securities licenses.
Adriana began her banking career as a DECA high school intern at Chase Bank (formerly Bank One) in Douglas, AZ. She joined Bank of America in 1998 as a part-time teller in the retail bank and then went on to hold various positions in the retail bank and as a Premier Banker before moving to the business side. Throughout her banking career, Adriana has served mid-sized and middle market companies as a relationship manager and as a market executive for the combined coverage west market which encompassed Southern Arizona, central California, New Mexico, and the western Texas area. She also serves as a mentor for teammates across Bank of America as a member and past executive sponsor for Arizona HOLA Arizona (Hispanic/Latino Organization for leadership & advancement). She is also a member of MSAG (Military Support & Assistance Group), and LEAD (Leadership, Education, Advocacy, & Development for Women).
Originally from Douglas, AZ, Kong Romero graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business and Public Administration, with a major in Finance from the University of Arizona and has a Master of Arts in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. Active in the community, she currently serves on the board of Sun Corridor, Inc., and is an appointed member of the University of Arizona Presidents’ Hispanic Community Council. She also volunteers with several nonprofits supporting military, hunger relief, homelessness and creating economic mobility. She’s held prior roles in the Southern Arizona Heart Association’s Circle of Red, University of Arizona Hispanic Alumni Association board of directors, United Way of Tucson, YMCA of Southern Arizona, DM50, 162nd Air Guardians, Southern Arizona Leadership Council, University of Arizona Eller College’s Center for Leadership & Ethics advisory board and was a member of Women at the Top (WATT).
She’s been recognized in AZ Big Media’s AZ Business Leaders for the last five years in the Banking and Finance category. In 2021 she was recognized in Biz Tucson as part of the Women Leading the region and 2021 Most Influential Women in Arizona Honoree. Most recently she was named as one of the AZ Big Media’s 2024 Most Influential Minority Business Leaders in Arizona.
