ECONOMIC BLUEPRINT
In 2007, Sun Corridor Inc. gathered Southern Arizona’s leadership to develop a comprehensive plan to impact the long-term regional economy. The end result was the Economic Blueprint, designed to guide our community’s economic development efforts and influence many of the factors that drive our competitiveness for years to come.
The Blueprint is used regionally as a guide for corporate giving and has been widely recognized nationally as a best practice for community/economic development visioning and planning. Thank you to our sponsor, Tucson Electric Power, who funded the analysis and community involvement process in the 2007 Economic Blueprint.
2014 BLUEPRINT UPDATE
In the midst of the economic recovery, Sun Corridor Inc. embarked on a process to update the Economic Blueprint. What must we still do to ensure we capture our fair share of prosperity in the new economic landscape? The original Blueprint helped to identify the area’s driving industries, strengths and growth opportunities, while this update focused on how to best take advantage of emerging opportunities in a new economic landscape.
The 2014 Update, also sponsored by Tucson Electric Power, focused on four areas: Talent, Infrastructure, Business Environment and Healthcare.
These drivers are the keys to strengthening our competitiveness across the entire megaregion, and by addressing talent, infrastructure, healthcare and collaboration regionally we differentiate Southern Arizona in the marketplace for high-wage jobs.
